Firefly Uganda nimmt sich zusammen mit den lokalen Communitys der Ssese-Inselgruppe in Uganda globalen Problemen an.
Durch den Bau von Schulen, der Sicherstellung von Unterricht und der Förderung von nachhaltigen Infrastrukturen (etwa Trinkwasser Anlagen oder ein Toiletten-Kompost System aus lokalen Materialien) schaffen die freiwilligen Helfer*innen vor Ort Perspektiven und ein lebenswerteres Leben nach ugandischen Vorstellungen. Hierbei steht bessere Bildung, gesundheitliche Versorgung und ökologische Nachhaltigkeit in Afrika im Vordergrund.
