Derzeit gibt es "Across the bo(a)rders" Projekte in Münster, Dortmund, München, Würzburg und Kassel. Das nächste Projekt soll nun in Rheine folgen. Die Skateboardtrainings werden von ehrenamtlichen Skateboardtrainern übernommen. Alle Projekte haben eines gemeinsam: integratives Skateboarding.
Das offene Angebot richtet sich an alle die Lust am Skateboarden haben, aber insbesondere an junge Flüchtlinge. Das Training bringt nicht nur Abwechslung und Spaß in den oft so tristen Alltag der Mädchen und Jungen, sondern lässt ein ganz neues Selbstbewusstsein, Gemeinschaftsgefühl und Vertrauen entstehen. Durch das gemeinsame Skateboarden von deutschen und geflüchteten Kids entstehen Freundschaften und die Integration in die deutsche Gesellschaft gelingt rollend.
Das Projekt ist ein Kooperationsprojekt von skate-aid und dem TV Jahn Rheine.
Initiiert und unterstützt wird das Projekt von Lipka Personalgewinnung GmbH und Eiscafé Nuraghe.
