The Shangrila Orphanage is a common project of "Govinda Entwicklungshilfe e.V." (INGO) and "Shangri-La Association" (NGO), which provides Nepalese orphans with a sustainably secured future.
The reintegration plan supports our children by the measures described in the following from the time of their entry into the orphanage throughout childhood and education to their successful training qualification (3 years) / studies (6 years) and the start of an own existence as an integrated part of the Nepalese society.
The orphans are supported in a way that gives them, besides a feeling of security, care, love and medical and educational care, the opportunity to deploy their own potentials and resources by providing them with optimal learning methods to develop methodic, functional and social competences. In this way, they are able to become independent, responsible and self-determined citizens of their country.
This reintegration plan for orphans ist the first of its kind in Nepal. It has arised from the 7-year-collaboration of both associations and was underpinned by numerous workshops, analyses and experts' opinions.
