Anfang des Jahres 2013 ist in Butzbach eine Gemeinschaftsunterkunft für Flüchtlinge entstanden. Die Bewohner kommen vor allem aus Syrien, Somalia, Eritrea, Afghanistan und Pakistan. Um den Flüchtlingen bei ihrem Einleben und bei ihrer Integration in Butzbach helfend zur Seite zu stehen, wurde seinerzeit ein Runder Tisch gegründet, aus dem die Flüchtlingshilfe Butzbach hervorgegangen ist. Die Flüchtlingshilfe Butzbach ist als e.V. organisiert.
