Maybe you have heard of the effects of the El Nino Year in South and East Africa. The drought is devastating. People are lacking foods and some prices have tripled. 80% of Ugandans are farmers. The drought has brought them little income. On the one hand school fees have increased because of high food prices for pupils. On the other hand people lack money to pay school fees because of a lower income.
Nakirubi is a village close to Kangulumira, Kayunga district. Around 5000 people live there. The area has 1 borehole and 2 hand made wells. The wells are not as deep and in the drought water is unreliable. Because so many people use the wells they often get spoiled. Usually people put their jerrycans in a line and go back to work as waiting times are too long. Please help us quickly so that Nakirubi gets a borehole and help 5000 people to have a better water supply!
