In Côte d’Ivoire, 24% of the population does not have access to safe drinking water, in rural areas even 35%.The deterioration of water points, coupled with poor sanitation conditions, increases the
risk of transmission of water-related diseases, both in rural and urban areas.
Habitat for Humanity rehabilitates water pumps, which will increase access to safe water supply for Ivorian families living in the Central Region of Côte d’Ivoire. To ensure that the intervention has long lasting benefits, community members will be trained on hygiene promotion and safe water practices and Water Committees will be formed to maintain each facility.
