Bursaries – Investing in Equal Opportunities for Every Child A key focus of the Trust’s current fundraising efforts is the continued support of the bursary programme at the Deutsche Schule Durban (DSD). Donated funds raised this year will be used to cover tuition fees and essential educational costs for 13 students whose families are unable to afford the full school fees. In addition to school fees, the funds will also be allocated to transport, school uniforms, learning materials, and participation in excursions and school activities, ensuring that every child can benefit equally from all aspects of school life. These investments directly impact the students’ daily experience—providing stability, inclusion, and access to a high-quality, bilingual education. Every contribution therefore helps not only to sustain individual learning journeys but also to strengthen the DSD’s long-term mission: to make excellent education accessible to all, regardless of financial background. By supporting the bursary programme, donors make a tangible and immediate difference—opening doors to opportunity, development, and hope for the children of today and the leaders of tomorrow.
