At Street Child we have proved that it is possible to help some of the hardest to reach children to receive an education. We already helped more than 40 000 Ebola impacted children to go to school in West Africa and we have supported children affected by the 2015 earthquake in Nepal.
Now we face a new challenge. There are 3 million children in need of education and urgent support in Northern Nigeria. Since 2011, the Islamist group Boko Haram has led attacks on communities in the area causing more than 2 million people to flee their homes. "Boko Haram" translates to "Western Education is forbidden". Schools have been destroyed and teachers have been killed.
We need to act now.
We want to provide safe, inclusive spaces for children to learn. We want to give these children the chance to go to school.
But we cannot do it without your support !
Each donation counts !
- 600€ is enough to provide basic training for volunteer teachers ;
- 360€ can fully equip a temporary classroom ;
- 60€ can provide learning materials for 4 refugee children ;
- 12€ can help a child access safe drinking water at school.
