About this project

Kid’s World Cup is a free integrative and inclusive sports event for children aged 4 to 12 which first took place in Heidelberg in 2015 and has now expanded to Bamberg as of 2016 with plans to include further locations in future!
Why Kid’s World Cup?
Kid’s World Cup is a sports event where children can get to know team sports or experience them in a new light. Children are registered individually and are sorted into age-appropriate teams on the day of the event. As a result, the children realize that regardless of their teammates’ origin, skin color or religious background, all children are equal and can work together to achieve a common goal.
Sports, especially team sports, offer the perfect setting to show the benefits of an open and diverse society. We cooperate with sports clubs who have the possibility to explore new groups (i.e. children from refugee families or with disabilities) to expand their membership base and to integrate these target groups into existing club structures, an important part of societal life.
For Kid’s World cup to be a success, we rely on the support of countless volunteers. In doing their best to make the day memorable for the children, the also benefit from the diversity our society has to offer.
