    About this project

Simon G. from Antirassistische Initiative e.V. is responsible for this project
The NSU trial is expected to end in 2017. But many important concerns of the victims' relatives and joint plaintiffs weren't taken seriously. The NSU isn't seen as a complex network with state support in the trial. Under these circumstances it's unlikely that the murders will be cleared up sufficiently. However, relatives of the victims, witnesses, joint plaintiffs and others have done their best to reveal the extent of this murder series, the structural and institutional racism. People have joined forces where the state has failed actively to make a difference and fight this injustice.

How to go on after the NSU trial? What can we learn from the NSU scandal? Which strategies do we have against the right-wing backlash and racism in Europe?

We want to address these and further question as Alliance against Racism together with many other groups and individuals and discuss them. On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the so-called self-uncovering of the NSU terrror network we organize an action week in Berlin between 29th october and sixth november 2016.

    Program (preliminary)
    10/29:
Rally in remembrance of Burak Bektaş, murdered in Berlin-Neukölln in 2012

    11/1-4:
Decentral actions by different groups and individuals at different spaces in Berlin (streets, squares, late night shops, cafés, libraries etc.). The invited antiracist initiatives and individuals that have experiences racism will plan and carry out self-determined actions like film screenings, readings, theater performances and workshops with focus on structural racism.

    11/5
International congress with panel discussions, workshops and performances. The following people are invited for the discussions and workshops with NSU victims' relatives, Ibrahim Arslan (Initiative Remembrance Mölln 1992), international panelists Rosita Grönfors (Romska Och Resande Kvinno Organisation, Sweden), "Urgence, notre police assassine (France) amongst others.

    11/6:
Movie and discussion night in Moviemento cinema. Film selection so far: „Der Kuaför aus der Keupstraße“ (The Coiffeur from Keupstraße). Afterwards discussion with guests that experienced the bombing in Keupstraße, Cologne (requested).

Key aspects of the action week are remembrance and resistance. Many initiatives were founded out of the necessity not to forget victims of racist violence and to demand justice. Within the action week we remember the murder victims of the NSU and all other victims of racist violence.

As a self-organized, independent alliance we depend on donations to carry out the action week.
