Transforming Self and World

For more than twenty years "Buddhistisches Tor Berlin" (Buddhist Gate Berlin) has been open to everybody who wants to learn meditation and what it means to be a Buddhist. The current centre in the heart of the city was opened in 2013. It is home to a community of practicing Buddhists who are dedicated to practising and teaching Buddhism relevant to the conditions of the modern world.

“Buddhistisches Tor Berlin” is open to everybody and we have a regular programme of classes and courses in meditation, studying Buddhist texts, introducing Buddhist devotional practice as well as many kinds of cultural and social activities. Such events and activities are dedicated to bringing about the transformation of both individual life and the world around us through the development of such qualities as wisdom, mindfulness, compassion, energy and imagination.

We at "Buddhistisches Tor Berlin" aspire to make Buddhism available to everybody regardless of their financial circumstances. So, events are either free or are kept to a very low cost.

The teachers and their helpers offer their time, skills and experience voluntarily. Some of them receive financial support for their living.
