Founded in 1931, our task is to rescue people of mountain emergencies, i.e. hikers, skiers and sledge riders, climbers, Canyon goers and cavers in emergencies and difficult terrain.
The mountain rescue team in Oberau currently consists of 39 active rescuers, 10 aspirants and a youth group with adolescents aged 10-16.
Due to increased numbers of accidents and associated changes in the Bavarian Mountain Rescue Association, our old mountain rescue station did not meet the increased space requirement of material and vehicles anymore. For this reason, we started planning a garage extension to the existing building.
To safely rescue people from the mountains, our rescuers also need appropriate clothing and expensive, personal protective equipment.
