About this project

Their parents face a life with a child that must be supported many hours a day. There is limited time for work, holidays and recreational outings as a family. Community and school rejection, psychological, physical and financial burdens become unbearably serious.
CLED-Campaign For Learning Disabilities' small children's centre is the only existing centre in the Kasoa area that provides literacy and therapy for the learning disabled children, teachers' training, community outreach and family support services. Parents also meet specialists, find knowledge for themselves and network with other families to gain the skills that they need to support their child.
Our goal is to build an inclusive centre that will be a space to provide targeted education for children with learning disabilities. This centre will provide children the opportunity to gain the skills that they need to be successful members of society.
Carrie and her family in the United States have kindly bought land in Kasoa for the building of this centre, but we need your support to buy the building materials. €10 buys 16 cement blocks, €8 buys one bag of cement, €175 buys a truck-load of sand, €400 buys a truck-load of stones for concrete works and €10 buys a bundle of iron rods. With a donation you can promptly and directly support the work of our team and our vision of a learning disability friendly society, enabling children with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, cerebral palsy and intellectual disabilities to reach their potential and become valued members of society.
Thank you very much!
