GOVOLUNTEER MAKES HELPING REFUGEES AS EASY AS POSSIBLE. In our country-wide volunteering community, organizers post their integration projects, volunteers sign up with just 1 click and companies easily find impactful projects to support. We want to motivate millions of people to get active, because we believe that true integration is only possible if newcomers and locals meet and get to know each other.
Indeed, millions of Europeans want to play an active role in growing an integrative society. But they often face obstacles like a lack of transparency ("Where am I needed?") or flexibility ("What goes along with my day-job?"). Meanwhile, thousands of great initiatives have a hard time finding the helpers they need to realize their projects. By making volunteering easy and transparent for both sides, we aim to solve the social sector's most prevalent matching challenge.
Currently, you can find more than 1,000 projects in 85 cities on GoVolunteer.com. By growing a new volunteering culture across society and all ethnicities, we make integration a reality for everyone.
NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP - With your support, we want to make great things happen in 2017. Planned projects include:
- Infrastructure for education, coaching and exchange: We create social spaces that give newcomers and locals the opportunity to get to know each other (e.g., 'integration parks' as shown in the video).
- Interactive Job Fairs: Our job fairs bring companies and newcomers together through interactive learning formats that build networks and convey crucial knowledge for a successful career start in Germany.
- Starter-Workshops: Interview-Training, CV-Coaching, Speed-Networking – During our workshop days, volunteers that know German recruiting habits train newcomers in presenting themselves effectively - since the first impression can make a big difference for a career to take-off.
- Language Buddy Program: Attending a language course is one thing, but being able to discuss what you truly care about is a different story. Our Language Buddy Program encourages newcomers and locals with a mutual curiosity to interact.
- Volunteering for refugees: Volunteering is a great opportunity to give something back to society, get to know new people and acquire valuable skills. We want to create more volunteering opportunities for refugees themselves - as low-threshold start into the labor market (and an opportunity to develop networks and references).
