About this project

Photography works without language and helps to get to know the environment. We want to discover Aachen together with refugees through our camera lenses. Refugees should get a chance to present "their" Aachen. The photos taken during the project will be presented at an exhibiton in November. We hope that this helps the "awareness" in our daily life with refugees.

There are going to be a couple of fotowalks during this project. We will be taking photos with repsect to a certain topic, e.g. "Typical German". Afterwards we will be having a look at the photos that we took. The participants will then also choose photos they want to present at the exhibition.

For us it is very important to stress that we are working in small groups consisting of refugees and people who have already been in Aachen quite some time. The project will be established together.

We did already get a lot of cameras as donations and are now hoping for some donations to buy needed things, e.g. for printing the photos. Every amount counts.

Who are we?: We are a student association of the RWTH Aacchen University. We cooperate with the 'Bürgerstiftung Lebensraum Aachen'. You can find more infos on starringaachen.org and on facebook.com/starringaachen.
