20 million people in Pakistan are affected by the worst floods in 80 years. Heavy monsoon rains flooded whole villages. Almost 5 million are homeless. Nearly 2000 people died.
Many people found shelter in emergency accommodations while others are still cut off from the rest of the world in remote mountain villages due to destroyed bridges and streets.
The situation is tense. Contaminated drinking water leads to diarrhea and other severe infections of the digestive system. It is very likely that people have to face the outbreak of diseases like cholera.
On top of that hospital wards and medicine storages have been flooded so that the medical staff is working under great limitations.
medeor already sent two emergency health kits to provide primary health care for thousands of people.Together with reliable partners the live-saving medicine is delivered as soon as possible. Just right now medeor is sending more medical aid to Pakistan.
