    About this project

    J. Jahns from Impact Recruiting gemeinnützige UG is responsible for this project
Our aim is to empower refugees in their journey of integrating into German society by facilitating the relationship between refugees and employers. We view work as one of the main drivers for integration for a number of reasons. In working together, locals and refugees challenge negative images seen in media. Working together also supports newcomers to learn the local language. Finally, work provides refugees a path to being selfsufficient and to be part of, and contribute to, a community.

However, connecting refugees and employers is only one part of our Integration Program; in order to ensure a sustainable employment, we provide individual and long-term support. For many of our candidates, finding a job symbolizes the start of a new life in a safe and stable environment. Repeated unsuccessful working experiences can lead to greater disappointment and frustration leading to demotivation.

For this reason we have developed a concept to provide an overall integration program, lasting approx. 6 months. This integration program encompasses professional CV preparation, one to one mentoring and upskilling (e.g., PC skills). The integration program and its components are tailored to the individual needs and specifics of each candidate. We believe that personal contact, especially through a long term relationship between mentor and mentee, provides the individuals with better development opportunities. This requires time, resources and financial support, but it enables our candidates to find a sustainable employment in which they can make the best use of their skills and talents and in which they can become part of and contribute to a diverse community.

    CV Preparation
We regularly hold professional CV workshops. During these workshops we sit with each candidate and personally help them understand their documents and working allowance. Then together we write all the relevant information in a CV template.

    Mentoring
Each candidate will be matched to a volunteer mentor who has previously been trained by our team. The mentor and mentee meet in person and talk about the personal and professional needs of the candidates. In particular, the mentor supports the mentee to identify talents and skills, and provides concrete advice on how to utilize and improve these skills.

    Upskilling (for example, computer courses)
We perform regular PC skills training for our candidates to enable them to improve their skills. We support them to create email addresses, which they can use to communicate with potential employers, and we offer training in the subjects of Internet, e-mails, Word and Excel.
