About this project
Bully has been plating up some excellent cuisine in the Fabisch Restaurant of The Circus Hotel, for the last seven years, and not only has he become an integral part of our Circus team, but more importantly, of our Circus family. In recent months we found out about Bully’s family situation in his home village No-Kunda, in Gambia. Not only is there very limited amounts of water available to his family and their fellow villagers, but also the water that is provided is unclean and unsafe.
In rural areas of Gambia it is common for only half the population to have access to clean drinking water. This, in turn, results in many health-related problems, and of course high infant mortality rates.
Each time Bully visits home it is harder and harder for him to deal with the fact that he is living in a country where water is aplenty, and his family and relatives at home in West Africa, do not know when or where their next safe water supply will come from. It breaks his heart to see his family drink from the same water supply as the animals do.
We need your help!
Together with Bully, The Circus family have decided to fundraise the building of a water well in Bully’s village. We have set out three different fundraising goals that we hope to achieve by the end of 2016:
1.) Raise money for the actual water tank itself (€2,000).
2.) Building the well (€3,000).
3.) The installation of solar panels, a pump, and all relevant accessories (€3,000).
For every Euro we raise, The Circus will match it – a Euro for a Euro.
Help us help Bully. We will be delighted with any and every effort you make, just donate!
