The refugees in Idomeni need our support. With our DOMO-shelter system we are planning to provide safe havens for breastfeeding mums and medical care at the scene in Idomeni!
As soon as one DOMO is financed, the Hans-Sauer-Foundation is sponsoring another one.
Idomeni/Griechenland - due to the closed borders to Macedonia another huge refugee camp emerged in Idomeni. The conditions at the scene are unimaginably. Accommodations, food, sanitary facilities - everything is lacking. To make things worse, after heavy rainfalls the camp is sinking in mud. Diseases are spreading fast - people are suffering from colds, malnutrition and diarrhoea.
Several NGOs and volunteers are at the scene to help. They need closed and dry rooms in order to offer the vulnerable refugees some privacy and hygiene. Especially mothers and their babys are affected by this situation. The mothers don't feel comfortable to breastfeed their babys in crowed camps and unhygienic conditions.
With the NGO "Nurture Project International" we want to enable the women a safe and secure room to breastfeed. The Team of Nurture Project will be at the scene to support the mothers with all necessary know how and material.
