The Kali Devi Primary School in Gadi, Makwanpur had to be demolished after the devastating earthquakes in May 2015. After the earthquakes the school building sank into the ground and the entire walls were badly damaged. As a result the whole building was in danger of collapsing and was no longer allowed to be used for classes.
Therefore the old building was demolished and made room for a new, better and earthquake-proof school building. The multiple isolated walls are providing more heat inside and the strong base ensures the earthquake safety. INK- Initiative Nepal Kids e.V. finances the school construction and equipment under better conditions and creates a school which encourages the children to learn and enables better education.
