It is strictly necessary to provide a sanitary and water supply for the new school of our project partner Father Thomas Varghese. Unfortunately know-how and money for the important technichal solutions are missing. Therefore the project team Uganda of the student group "Engineers Without Borders - Karlsruhe Institute of Technology e.V." is working on a solution for building sanitary installations and a water treatement system since March 2015. The realisation of this project is divided into two parts: The sanitary system with waste-water free dry-toilets and wet rooms was built in summer 2015 and will be expanded by a cistern with an included water treatment system in 2016. Furthermore there are plans for the next few years to build a primary school for which sanitary systems are needed as well. Due to the cooperative building construction it will be possible for our project partner to copy the developed concept to satisfy the demand for water and sanitary systems with an increasing number of students.
