About this project
The organization AMORAD is proud to be able to present you their project for the construction of public toilets. (- And yes, even today not all people enjoy being able to use the luxury of a toilet!).
The plan is to construct six ecological dry / composting toilets (principle Ecosan which allows to recycle the feces to produce organic fertilizers, of what the farmers will profite) in July 2016 in the place Koudassi Gboganme in Togo (région maritime). But your help is appreciated!
The project aims in general to protect the environment and the development of agriculture.
The socio-economic background:
Koudassi is a place with about 3000 inhabitants and is located about 65 kilometers northeast of Lomé away - in Canton Ave. Despite the fact that agriculture is the most important activity in the place, it does not cover the food needs of the villagers - due to inadequate methods and means, culturable but not cultivated soil, rising fertilizer prices ...
The impoverished inhabitants live there in difficult circumstances: Koudassi Gboganme has only a primary school. The majority of young people go away to look for work or go to school in other municipalities as a secondary school is missing and a healthcare is also not assured.
Koudassi Gboganme also has no (public) toilets. This results in a devaluation of the environment and health in their lives, which in turn increases the risk of diseases.
Goals:
First of all, the project aims at improving the environment and hygiene everywhere in the place. In fact, the realization of the project will make it possible to reduce the spread of faeces in and outside the village considerably. Likewise, diseases, especially diarrheal diseases, were effectively prevented. The project also allowes to sensitize the population regarding the protection of their environment. The inhabitants can so be aware not to defecate in the bush and to carry on this message. In addition, local initiatives for the appointment and management of agricultural land by the use of organic fertilizers can be improved. This would reduce production costs due to the provision of organic fertilizers through the re-use of sewage by the ECOSAN process. To support this project, you would suggest farmers to training.
Ultimately AMORAD-Togo searches therefore sponsors to start the project in July 2016 in Koudassi Gboganme. This is a costly project that can not be realized without your financial support. Residents would be very grateful, if their situation would improve by your support.
Thank you! Merci! Akpe kaka!
