    About this project

    C. Awanfe Ngueto from Global Compassion is responsible for this project
Global Compassion and Kids Have a Dream are together taking the initiative to provide Internet access and basic computer education for children (10 to 15 years old ) from communities that are too poor to take advantage of computers and therefor benefit from global connectivity. The project will benefit the children in Santchou and empower them to be prosperous in a world since computers are used in almost every field of life.

In Cameroon you can find a Master Graduate without Computer knowledge: Strange but reality !!! Therefore our team has initiate to provide a platform where under-privileged children in Santchou can get access to basic computer education. The project will enable them to interact with computers, learn its functions and different usages in order to help them lead prosperous lives in the future. The Cameroonian government has introduced computer literacy programs for primary schools and high schools, but no computers for children in many rural schools.

This project is for children of poor families in the municipality of Santchou for facilities and opportunities for computer access and IT education.

    The goals are to provide:
    1) Computer access and training
    2) Internet access
3)A network between schools in Santchou for exchange programs
    4) Appropriate mentoring to ensure their scholarly progress and contribute to social change in their community.

The computer lab with Internet access in Santchou, which will benefit 1000 children and youth from poor families from 11 schools (6 primary schools and 5 high schools). In order to implement this project, a steering committee will be established consisting of a board of 4 people from Global Compassion’s team,3 technicians and 2 community representatives. This committee will make the necessary arrangements regarding project planning, implementation, daily execution and appropriate monitoring.
