HOYWICK stands for Humanity for Orphans, Youth and Widows Initiatives Kenya. The school is situated in the Kibera slums outside of Nairobi and provides education for AIDS orphans and street children. The children are between 4 - 14 years old. Of those 250 children enrolled in school 159 are orphans, 19 suffer from AIDS disease. 30 of the pupils are drawn from the streets.
The playground for the children is part of a didactic andpedagogic project that will also provide electricity for several classrooms, schoolbooks and new computers.
