    About this project

Lia H. from Community Breakthrough Support Mission is responsible for this project
Community Breakthrough Support Mission is a community of people helping to educate and care for 250 orphans and vulnerable children. In January 2008, the children and 7 adults were evacuated for our safety from Kayole Soweto, in Nairobi to Kimilili. Our facilities were burnt down during the violence surrounding the national elections and we feared for our lives. With the help of international volunteers, community members and elders, we set up a temporary school in Kimilili. We are now in the process of raising funds to purchase land and build permanent school facilities and set up a school garden program.

Secondly, we are setting up women's co-ops and youth groups and helping them form micro-financed small scale businesses.
