Limit 600x450 happy cyclists together in berlin

Dear wonderful supporters,

Cycling ladies have had a very busy week again, which included:

  • two more new ladies learned to ride at our meeting on Saturday. That brings total number of learners to around 50 so far.
  • more fabulous volunteers bringing their bikes and enthusiasm along including this week members of a women's cycling team "velonistas".
  • several days organising bike pick ups and repairs plus shopping for accessories - so now 6 participants now have their very own bikes, locks, helmets and safety vests. Our "suppliers" gave us lots of juicy discounts on repairs, spare parts, safety gear etc.
  • support from BUND Berlin (Friends of the Earth Germany) who chose to forgo their Team Christmas Party and donate the money to us instead! How wonderfully heart-warmingly generous.

Arij and Mallake from Syria have attended many lessons and now received their bikes. In total seven ladies have bikes to practice (off road!) on. In January we will all go together to a "Verkehrsschule" to learn the rules of the road (me included!)

On Wednesday BUND Berlin invited us to their office to present us with their contribution to our crowdfunding

With the donated money we bought not only serious safety gear including helmets but also some fun accessories :-)

Your support means so much to me and the Cycling Ladies. I have lost count of how many times we have been thanked by every single person who has taken part. Our ladies know it is the kindness of friends and even strangers who make all this possible and they are (like me) very overwhelmed. We send you our love at Christmas and all the best for 2016.
