About this project

Jeroham was founded in 2000 by Pastor Suhin Jackson’s family and currently provides children aged 6 to 23 a home, education and the possibility of a future in financial security. Every child has its personal story. But no matter what past they are looking back on – whether they were abandoned, given away out of financial distress or completely orphaned – Suhin takes care of them all.
Five years ago Jeroham moved to the Medavakkam district where they had risen a building on that purpose. The ground the home was built on, however, still belongs to the Indian government. Although this circumstance never happened to be a problem within these five years, in April 2015 the Indian government declared the location of the building unsuitable for an orphanage because they claim their land for the benefit of bridge-building. They granted Suhin a two months deadline to find a new place for the home. Finding such a place turned out to be very difficult as no one is prepared to rent out property of adequate size to an orphanage and as the Indian government is not supporting Jeroham. Temporarily, the children live with Suhin’s cousin Rose because the family is not willing to give up the children and the home. Now Suhin finally found a building for rent which is near to Rose’s place. Still there are some problems occurring on that solution like the loss of supporters due to the change of place and the children also have to change their school, but these are minor issues. Principal priority is to afford the advance payment of 200.000 Rupees (3137,46$).
As we hold “our” children very close to our hearts, we plead you to help. Please donate to save their home!
