    About this project

    N. Le Duff from Ein Museum der Farben is responsible for this project
(version française en bas de page)

If one tends to have quite a grey and drab image of Berlin, the German capital city represents however a privileged place to appreciate colours. Cultivating its cosmopolitan identity for centuries, Berlin actually constitutes a migratory and cultural crossing point of Europe, gathering various influences.

Composing an exhibition about the colours of Berlin suggests to study in parallel the presence of colours in the city, but also the ways that led them until here. Present in historical contexts through architecture, artistic movements or green spaces, we also find them from urban furnitures to street art and public transportations. This multidisciplinary exhibition made of various supports will allow underlining the relevancy of the Berliner territory.

In this exhibition, we will show to what extent the heritage of European cultures such as their contemporary influence are present through the colours of Berlin. The red thread will bring the visitor from the symbolical colours of Berlin such as flags, to functional colours that facilitate the reading of a modern city, but also cultural and artistic colours that compose the chromatic palette of the city, underlining different features of its identity.

We plan to realise this exhibition during the year 2016.
