In September 2015 the United Nations have agreed 17 global goals to eradicate poverty, protect the environment for us and future generations and to promote just and fair developement globally. Germany and all other governments of the world have commited to implement these 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 sub-goals by 2030. The 2030-Watch Project of the Open Knowledge Foundation contribute to ensure that Germany meets this commitment.
On our 2030-watch.de Webseite we present an overview of relevant indicators for the SDG as well as the progress of the German government in meeting the SDGs. Through networking with other civil society organisations and advocacy work in the parliament we increase public pressure on politicians to honour the commitment.
The project is conceived as a contribution to the discussion of SDG monitoring. In a consultative process we plan to continue the debate on the choice of indicators and the methodology for rating until the end of 201. For more information please consult our website: www.2030-watch.de.
