    About this project

Laud A. from The Anidaso Nsae Foundation (TANF) is responsible for this project
The Anidaso Nsae Foundation (TANF) believes that we can help raise awareness of Ebola in West Africa to hopefully reduce the high risk of outbreak reaching neighbouring countries, like Ghana. Please note that the virus is currently non-existent in Ghana – We want to keep it this way. TANF works closely alongside the youth community. We are going to train and educate our young people on Ebola, so that they can spread the word and their knowledge of the virus in local communities. We want people to be able to recognise symptoms in order to prevent outbreaks. To make this all possible, we need funding to pay for bite size information leaflets, food, travel costs, t-shirts and sanitizers.

    What is Ebola?
Ebola first appeared in 1976 in two simultaneous outbreaks, in Nzara, Sudan, and in Yambuku, Democratic Republic of Congo. The latter was in a village situated near the Ebola River, from which the disease takes its name. Ebola is spreading at a frightening speed in West Africa and urgent action is needed. It has been declared the deadliest Ebola outbreak ever. World health organization (W.H.O) at its headquarters in Geneva, said the number of people who had died in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria had reached 1,229, with 84 new fatalities reported from Aug. 14 to 16, the latest available figures.

How will this project solve this problem?
Ebola is spread through direct contact of bodily fluids from those infected. Unfortunately remote communities are ill-informed about the virus and how to diagnose an infection person. TANF are going to raise awareness of Ebola with educational campaigns, public health talks, flyers, door to door campaigning and visiting schools. The campaign will equip the population of Ghana to withstand in case of an outbreak in the future.

    Potential Long Term Impact:
By both informing communities and raising awareness, this project will result in communities being better equipped to combat Ebola and similar diseases in the future. We know knowledge is the most powerful weapon anyone can ever acquire and is exactly what TANF seeks to impact on targeted populations.
