I first met Nzinga´s mother, Akilah Jaramogi, three years ago in Port of Spain, Trinidad. I interviewed her in her function as honorory director of the environmental foundation FACRP. Afterwards, we stayed in contact via Facebook. This summer I received her request from Trinidad, whether I could help finding a surgeon in Germany, who could save the leg and the life of her daughter, Nzinga. With the help of my network I stared to search for specialists, money, and other supporters. They collect donations in Trinidad, we do it here. - Please help to save the leg and the life of Nzinga.
In an appeal to the public Nzinga explains, what we achieved so far:
(...) I am Nzinga Jaramogi, 21 years old. I am studying Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) at the COSTAATT in Trinidad in the second year. In November 2012 I was diagnosed with Periosteal Osteosarcoma. This is a malignant tumor which has grown around the lower end my right femur bone. In Trinidad I can only be helped with an amputation of my right leg at mid-femur level. Whereas we found the possibility of a leg-salvaging operation with resection of the tumor and the implantation of a tumor- endoprosthesis performed by Prof Bruns in Hamburg.
With the help of a circle of friends we trying to fundraise the expected costs of 25 thousand Euro , to save my life by saving my leg, so that I can continue to persue my goals of completing my Bachelor`s degree and become a Professional in the field of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
Next to the College I am actively working in the NGO „Fondes Amandes Community Reforestation Project“ (FACRP). I would like to thank you for your consideration.
