About this project
Diarrhea and Cholera are the most public health problems related to sanitation in Mwanza, causing hundreds of deaths among the most vulnerable - children. Disease statistics indicate that 60-80% of the diseases requiring hospital attendance are those related to poor sanitation.
We cannot stand by and let this happen. And this is why Child In Action, a charitable foundation in Tanzania that works towards helping vulnerable children, has set up a WASH project.
We want all children, from the town to village, to have clean water, proper sanitation and good hygiene at home and at school, and we are positive we can make this happen one step at a time. In the first year, we aim to reach 1200 children and over subsequent years, we want to reach at least 5500 children in Mwanza with these these basic necessities. Along with this, we want to influence communities to participate in the planning, construction, use and maintenance of clean water, sanitation and hygiene facilities, and empower and educate them on all of these aspects, as well as disease prevention.
We need to reach $11,550 (USD) but we cannot do this without the support of amazing people like you who have already taken the first step by reading this. Will you donate whatever money you can to support our project?
Thank you.
