In Bhutan, Gangteng Monastery is the Main Seat of H.H Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche, the renovation was finished in 2008, after 6 years of work, the part of the surrounding construction at the outside wall with the prayerwheels inside, could not be rebuilt in
its originally existing form. Now this part, containing the prayerwheels around the Gangteng Monastery will be finally established in its original form, which goes back to the 17th century. About 350 Mantra-spinning Cylinders, which can be turned by hand during the Circumambulation of the Gangteng Gompa will be placed around Gangteng Gompa, as well as the old stone carving pictures at the wall of the „Lagkhor“ (Handwheels) will be restored with pictures of Buddhas, Guru Rinpoche, Deities and Gurus of the Pema Lingpa Lineage. Together with the historical wooden construction containing the cylinders. For the one who is turning the wheels by hand, many benefits arise, as well as for everyone who has the connection to this act of doing, and to these wheels.
The benefits arise by this tendrel, the law of interdependence. These cylinders will be filled with Mantras roles of Vajrasattva, Chenresig, Guru Rinpoche and other deities. The outside of the cylinder is made of copper metal, coined by the Chenresig Mantra in the holy language of Sanskrit. You also can send your good wishes and rejoice deeply in these cylinders, act that can bring much benefit for sick, dying people or people who have already passed away. The blessings and benefits radiating and arising from this holy place of Gangteng will go all over the world and reach to you, wherever you stay or live.
The costs for one of these cylinders are about 150 Euros. And the costs for the stone-carvings, and the wooden construction going 100 meters around the Monastery are estimated with about 13.800 Euros. To take part in this activity is a wonderful opportunity and chance for us to collect a great amount of merit for the temporary result of a good and peaceful life and the ultimate result of attaining Buddhahood.
