is a game that teaches playfully how to spot comments or claims with racist content in our everyday language. It helps the participants to understand the difference between prejudice and cliché/stereotype. At the same time all participants learn facts against widespread prejudices.
The game contains cards with all types of comments. The participants have to evaluate them by positioning themselves at one of the following: “that’s it!”, “true!”, “weird but ok.”, “that’s nonsense!”, “silly cliché.”, “big prejudice!”, “really racist!”. Afterwards, everyone has to explain why they chose their position.
Prejudice was developed by Gesicht Zeigen!(Show your face!) in order to be used by schools and other pedagogical institutions for the work with children and youths. In a simple but effective way the subject of prejudice is discussed. For Gesicht Zeigen! it was important to make the game available at no charge as schools often lack the financing for extra materials.
“Show your face! For a liberal minded Germany” is a charitable organization dependent on wide-ranging support. It is the only way to make the printing possible and to make the Prejudice game available free of charge.
