Our mission: 50,000 trees for the rainforest. With only 1 euro it is already possible to plant a tree seedling, which contributes to reforest clear-cutting areas and helps to establish a new rainforest. How many trees will you plant?

Why do we care so much about reforestation? Trees mean future, trees mean life – every single tree takes up tons of carbon dioxide during his life and with that improves the climate. Trees prevent erosion with their canopy and roots. They are important water storages and regulate the climate. At the same time trees and forest are important habitats: 2/3 of all animal and plant species in the whole world are located in the rainforests.

And it is not all about „planting trees“. Some still existing tropical forest areas are permanently conserved by the projects of OroVerde – with the help of the local population and park rangers. That is why we are donating 1 euro for a seedling and in addition 1 euro for further conservation measures. This secures that the seedling is growing up to a full sized tree! Each Euro counts and arrives exactly where it is needed the most. We are now having the possibility to plant trees and grow a new rainforest. Let’s tackle it and help fulfilling this mission together!

Need some reforestation project examples from OroVerde? In Venezuela tree by tree a new forest is growing, whereas in Guatemala new habitats are created for jaguar, scarlet macaw and others. In the Dominican Republic agroforestry areas are established to guarantee food security for the local population. In Honduras the forest is missing to store water: the people in the project area have no access to clean drinking water – whole regions are in danger to dry out. Here reforestation can help to create catchment areas for drinking water - a win-win situation for humans and nature. You can find all information about the projects by OroVerde at www.oroverde.de.
