‘Phank’, the school project, got off to a very successful start. In the beginning Alankrita taught children from poor families reading and writing – on the rooftop of her house.
In the meantime there are 100 children in the school. Starting as a neighborhood support it has developed into an important school project, so big that Alankrita couldn’t cover the payments for the rent, teachers and maintenance of the school building only by herself and donations from India. We decided to support her. So far donations raised in Germany provided the school with with books, stationary and two sawing machines.
So far, there have been two skilled craft classes for women. The manufactured products were sold at local markets and earned the women money needed for their families.
