    About this project

Daniel B. from Gyalpa e. V. is responsible for this project
More than 2 million Syrians currently live in refugee camps around Syria’s borders with more and more arriving every day. More than half are children.

Together with Syrian refugees (Supporter) we have set up the non-profit organization Jasmine Baladi. This partnership enables our local team to support their own country in a peaceful way while improving their situation step by step.

Jasmine Baladi’s work focusses mainly on the emotional and psychological needs of refugee children from the ages of 6 to15 year olds. Through workshops and various tools of group therapy we encourage the kids to talk about and deal with their traumatic experiences related to the civil war. Working in groups of up to 16 children, we make use of various interactive role plays and visualization techniques.

Another example of Jasmine Baladi’s work is a weekly football competition to help distract children from the harsh reality that is living in a refugee camp and to instill team spirit. The winning team receives a football to share amongst all.

Members of the local Jasmin Baladi team also visit children in local schools and hospitals to lighten the often heavy burden these kids carry.

As part of maintaining regular and direct contact with our local team, we visit regularly to assess the situation, talk to children and their parents and to bring donated goods to the recipients.
