This summer, Neue Nachbarschaft/Moabit e. V. will once again host a free, creative Summer School for children and young people (ages 5–15) from families affected by displacement and migration.
From August 14 to September 6, 2025, we want to invite around 50 kids to the Strandbad Tegelsee, a historic public swimming site in Berlin, which we are reviving as a place for art, nature, and inclusive education.
Over three weeks, the children will take part in a carefully designed program of artistic workshops – including visual arts, music, theater, sports, and movement, as well as activities that foster ecological awareness and a respectful relationship with water and the natural environment. The program is created and led by artists, educators, and volunteers from our internatianal community of Neue Nachbarschaft/Moabit.
Who we are:
Neue Nachbarschaft/Moabit e. V. is a Berlin-based non-profit association founded in 2013. Our work is grounded in self-organization, voluntary engagement, and free access to artistic and cultural education. Based in Moabit, we serve a diverse neighborhood and community from across the globe.
Since 2021, we have been revitalizing the Strandbad Tegelsee as an inclusive, ecological, and cultural space. Alongside the swimming season, we host low-threshold educational formats such as this Summer School for children from displaced and marginalized communities.
We are raising €5,000 to help fund this year’s Summer Camp. Your donation will go toward art materials, meals, and small stipends for those leading the workshops.
