Houses instead of huts – Safe accommodation for families in Uganda
In October 2024, we visited Uganda and saw with our own eyes the difficult conditions in which many families live there. In simple huts made of mud, wood, or corrugated iron, they lack everything: protection from rain, heat, and storms, as well as basic sanitation and safe living space for children. In Uganda, many families live in simple huts made of mud, wood, or corrugated iron. These offer neither protection from rain and wind nor a safe environment for children. There are no toilets, no clean water, and no solid roof over their heads. Children are particularly vulnerable to the unhygienic conditions and unsafe living conditions. Disease, lack of education, and fear characterize their everyday lives.
Our association, “Hände der Gnade von Saron e. V.” (Hands of Grace from Saron), is working to change this with the project “Houses instead of huts.” Together with local partners, we want to build 20 stable, weatherproof, and safe houses in Uganda for families in dire need.
Each house offers:
✅ A solid roof and stable walls – for protection from extreme weather
✅ Windows and doors – for safety and security
✅ A toilet and access to water – for hygiene and health
✅ A sustainable living environment – for a better future
In October 2024, we visited Uganda ourselves and saw the hardship with our own eyes. The experience moved us deeply and motivated us to launch this project.
Donation target & cost overview:
- 1 house costs €8,000
- 20 houses are planned
- Total cost: €160,000
Every donation counts and makes a difference:
- €50 = building materials for walls
- €100 = windows & doors
- €500 = foundation & roof
- €8,000 = a complete house for a family
Through this project, we are not only providing protection from the weather and disease, but also hope, stability, and a future for entire families.
Please help us and become part of this life-changing project.
Let's work together to give families in Uganda a safe home.
