About this project
DJK Don Bosco Bamberg is one of the largest football clubs in the region with over 1,100 members, around 700 of whom are children and young people. We promote youth in both grassroots and competitive sports. Over 150 children aged 6 to 10 play in our small-field teams, and our youth performance center is an official DFB (German Football Association) development hub.
We aim to replace the pitch by 2027/2028 with a modern, eco-friendly artificial turf. New systems avoid microplastics, provide better shock absorption, and reduce injury risk – benefiting both health and the environment.
- 12% of the costs are covered by the City of Bamberg
- 20% is funded by the Bavarian Sports Association – only if we secure our own contribution
- 68% (272,000 euros) must come from the club – and this is where you come in!
What your donations will fund:
- Removal and eco-friendly disposal of the old turf
- Preparation of the substructure
- Installation of a new, sustainable artificial turf system
- Shock pad layer, line markings, and final works
Why this matters:
A new pitch guarantees safe, year-round training for hundreds of children and teens. It promotes physical activity, team spirit, and youth development. At the same time, we’re investing in sustainability by avoiding microplastics and using eco-friendly materials.
