Thousands of Ukrainian refugees are seeking protection and new perspectives in Leipzig. Leipzig helps Ukraine e.V. has been working with heart and commitment since 2022 to ensure that they can build a dignified and self-determined life here.
Why is our work so important?
Refugees face enormous challenges: Language barriers, bureaucratic hurdles, social isolation, trauma and discrimination make integration difficult. State aid is often not enough, many services are overbooked or not easy enough to access.

What we do - and what we can do even better with your help:
Language courses for all generations: We offer age-appropriate German courses to facilitate communication and enable participation in social life. From playful learning for children to special programmes for the elderly, there is something for everyone.
Language courses for all generations: We offer age-appropriate German courses to facilitate communication and enable participation in social life. From playful learning for children to special programmes for the elderly, there is something for everyone.
“Democracy in Dialogue”: We teach democratic values, facilitate political education and support active participation in society. In workshops, debating clubs and lecture series, participants learn to express their opinions, stand up for their rights and help shape our democracy.
“Active and Integrated” – Programmes for the elderly: We fight loneliness, provide social contact and support older refugees in expanding their digital skills and actively participating in social life.
“Stability in Daily Life”: We offer practical help in dealing with authorities, looking for a job, finding accommodation and psychosocial support to give refugees a stable foundation for their new life. In self-help groups and safer spaces, they find protective places for dialogue and mutual support.

What will your donation actually achieve?
- 25 euros: one hour of counselling for refugees on official matters.
- 50 euros: enables two children to attend a playful language course.
- 75 euros: funds a refugee’s participation in a political education workshop.
- 100 euros: covers costs for a self-help group meeting for traumatised women.
We are convinced that integration can only succeed together!
