ICXchange, as a non-profit exchange organization, consistently pursues the goal of fostering understanding among peoples, promoting intercultural education, and encouraging social engagement through its non-profit work.
ICX offers student exchanges in 13 countries worldwide to enable a wide variety of cultural experiences. These intercultural experiences are accompanied by intensive preparation and follow-up. The cultural exchange itself is the primary focus.
For ICX, the hosting programs are just as important as the sending programs, as only exchange in both directions can lead to a deep intercultural understanding of one another. In Germany, hosting international exchange students in host families strengthens tolerance and open-mindedness in society. The exchange students represent their own culture in Germany and, after this stay abroad, take on the role of an ambassador for Germany in their home country.
Our daily work is supported by the voluntary commitment of our members. These include former exchange students, host families, regional supervisors, and sponsors of international youth work.
Exchange experiences impart intercultural and social skills that are indispensable for responsible action in a globalized world. It is out of this conviction that ICX carries out its exchange programs. Our activities are not aimed at generating profit. The services and costs of the various program offerings are presented transparently, so that it is clear what the program fees are used for.
International youth exchange thrives on the trusting relationship between people and mutual respect. ICX clearly opposes physical, sexual, or emotional abuse and violence. A proactive approach to this issue also sensitizes all participants and stakeholders before the start of the program.
German tour operators such as ICX are fully responsible for the proper execution of the programs and are liable for any defects in accordance with German travel law. If you organize your exchange yourself or choose an exchange advisor or expert as a partner, you may struggle to assert your rights abroad in case of problems. With a German tour operator, the contract between the participant and the operator is subject to the significantly more favorable German travel law and also includes insolvency insurance.
For the daily work, the non-profit members of ICX are supported by a professional team of experts who organize the exchange programs and provide advice and support. Financial resources are needed for the work of the team and the office equipment.
