Modernisation of the aircraft fleet - new training two-seater

Luftsportverein Schneverdingen E.V.
A project from Luftsportverein Schneverdingen E.V. in Schneverdingen, Germany
The 30-year-old training two-seater is to be replaced by a modern glider made of fibreglass. The planned aircraft can be used for both beginners and advanced training thanks to its different wingspans.

About this project

Ole Gaida from Luftsportverein Schneverdingen E.V. is responsible for this project
Luftsportverein Schneverdingen e.V. is planning to replace its 30-year-old ASK 13 training two-seater of mixed construction (wooden wings covered with fabric and tubular steel fuselage) with a more modern two-seater of GRP construction.
A DG 1001 is to be purchased for this purpose. In addition to its modern design and thus increased crash safety, the aircraft offers optimum possibilities for training and further education thanks to its various attachable wings. The aircraft is fully aerobatic, which is particularly important for hazard briefings. However, it can also be used for cross-country flight instruction and thus for competitive sport. As gliders are still made by hand today, delivery times are correspondingly long and production costs are very high. Completion and delivery of the aircraft is currently scheduled for Q1/2028.
LSV anticipates an investment of around €200,000 for a compete system consisting of:
- DG1001 glider
- Modern instrumentation suitable for cross-country flights
- transport trailer
- 2 rescue parachutes
