Free music lessons in refugee shelters

The Al-Farabi Music Academy brings children and young people with and without a refugee background together through the power of music - directly in Berlin's shared accommodation centers. For many of these children, music is more than just a free-time activity: it gives them a voice, builds self-confidence and promotes a sense of community and integration. 

Our free lessons (violin, guitar, bağlama and choir) enable refugee and local children to make music together, learn from each other and make friends across cultural boundaries. Our team consists of professional musicians and educators with many years of experience in working with children and young people who have experienced flight and trauma. In order to ensure sustainable music education, our courses are ongoing and dependent on funding and donations. 

With your donation we can:

✅ Provide instruments and accessories so that every child can make music regardless of their financial situation.
