Help Us Ensure Flood Protection at the German School Durban and Complete Our Construction Project!
Our construction project – the addition of much-needed extra space – is making great progress, and we are nearing completion! Thanks to the generous support of a South African donor community, we have already achieved many milestones. However, the exceptionally heavy rains in recent weeks have once again highlighted the importance of an effective drainage system to prevent flooding in the KwaZulu-Natal region. Additional drainage work is especially needed in the kindergarten area, and this work is now in progress.
These unexpected costs have exceeded our budget, which is why we are relying on your help to cover the remaining construction expenses and ensure necessary flood protection.
In addition to flood protection from the regular summer rains, the project includes many exciting new features: a modern art room, the "Rudi Room" for individual child care, a spacious multipurpose hall with a beautiful view of the sports field, and changing rooms for boys and girls. The project also includes a music room, an office for the sports department, and several storage rooms.
We are currently short of 50,000 Rand (approx. 2,500 EUR) to finance the necessary drainage system and ensure protection against future flooding. Additionally, we need further donations to furnish the new spaces and make them fully functional for the children and staff.
Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us successfully complete the project and secure flood protection! Please support us with a donation so we can take the final steps and begin using the new facilities in the coming weeks. On behalf of the entire school community at the German School Durban, we sincerely thank you for your valuable support!
