Gender equality is a societal project – and it concerns everyone. Yet in political and public debates on equality, the perspectives of boys, men, and fathers are rarely taken into account. While many men support gender equality, they often feel that current policies don’t speak to them.
This is where the Bundesforum Männer – Interest Association for Boys, Men and Fathers comes in. As a civil society umbrella organization, we advocate for gender equality policies that include all genders – and engage men as active allies in building a more just society. Among other things, we run the web portal Maennerberatungsnetz.de, which provides access to specialized counseling services for boys, men, and fathers.
Our goal:
We aim to improve the political and social conditions so that men – regardless of origin, sexual orientation, or status – can live self-determined lives, free from outdated role expectations. For this, we need a modern, equality-oriented men's policy that creates and supports concrete services and opportunities.

What we do:
- We advise policymakers, media, and professionals on men’s issues and gender equality.
- We organize conferences, campaigns, and educational formats – on topics such as masculinity, health, or caregiving.
- We build nationwide networks of organizations working with boys, men, and fathers.
- We advocate publicly for diversity, gender justice, and against anti-feminism.
