Basic lymphological research for improved diagnosis and treatment

Whether primary/secondary lymphoedema, lipohyperplasia dolorosa (lipoedema), diseases such as Kawasaki syndrome or a congenital malformation of the lymphatic vessels: lymphological clinical pictures are common, but diagnosis and treatment are often difficult and such diseases are usually not given sufficient attention in everyday clinical practice. Despite the high number of patients affected worldwide, there are still many unexplored topics in the field of lymphology.

LY.SEARCH aims to improve this situation through basic research and patient-orientated improvements in diagnosis and treatment. 

The work of LY.SEARCH contributes to providing deeper insights into the lymphatic system. The aim is to give those affected a chance to live their lives as unimpaired as possible or even to achieve a cure. 

 LY.SEARCH gGmbH is an institute for basic lymphological research. We initiate, promote and support national and international studies and research projects that provide more lymphological knowledge. Our cooperation partners include the Charité in Berlin, the Helmholtz Institute in Leipzig, the Centre for Clinical Studies at the University of Cologne and the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Bonn University Hospital.

Test subjects are needed for current and future studies in lymphology. After a detailed medical history and examination using state-of-the-art technology at LY.SEARCH, lymphological patients can be added to our database as potential test subjects in order to provide important answers for future studies and research questions.

Our current studies include the development of lymphoedema after breast cancer surgery and pain measurement in lipohyperplasia dolorosa (LiDo/lipoedema). Further studies & research projects can be found on our homepage: www.lysearch.de
