About this project

Fitsame W. from PfefferminzGreen e.V. is responsible for this project
The N’NINKIE RESEARCH LAB is an innovative space for young African students, designed to promote research and education from an African perspective. It provides scientists and academics with the opportunity to analyze data and develop research projects that address social and environmental challenges within communities.

In Sierra Leone, economic and social challenges are often approached with external solutions, which frequently overlook local knowledge and significantly hinder sustainable community development. Additionally, young researchers lack opportunities to conduct their own research projects and actively contribute to the development of their communities.  The N’NINKIE Research Lab, launched under the N’NINKIE Program by PfefferminzGreen e.V., aims to fill this gap. The Program supports African communities in finding their own development solutions instead of relying on external models, it emphasizes local knowledge, research, and community-led initiatives.

What the N’Ninkie Lab Does? (Key Activities)
🔹
Training & Capacity Building: Students learn qualitative and quantitative research methods, data collection, and analysis.
🔹  Community-Based Research:  Young researchers conduct studies on education, agriculture, health, gender issues, and local governance in collaboration with a local NGO.
🔹  Knowledge Sharing & Networking:  Organizing workshops and forums to connect students, researchers, and policymakers.

Why Do We Need Donations?
To effectively run the N’NINKIE Research Lab, we need support for:
  • Basic infrastructure (workspace, internet access, and printing costs).
  • Training materials (books, laptops, and research software).
  • Field research activities (transportation, survey costs, and data collection).
  • Workshops and advocacy events to share research findings.                                                                                                                    By supporting the N’NINKIE Research Lab, you help young African researchers become leaders in solving local challenges and creating sustainable, community-driven solutions.
