The kitten flood

The "kitten flood" hits every year, and the number of wild-born kittens grows larger each time. In order to help sustainably, we mainly need support for spaying and neutering projects. Only through spaying and neutering can we alleviate the suffering of outdoor cats, and especially that of the "homeless cats" that mostly settle on farms. Basic vaccinations, deworming, parasite treatments, and, very importantly, microchipping the kittens are also necessary and costly. However, this is the only way to sustainably reduce the suffering of street cats as well as that of outdoor cats. Keep in mind that cats reach sexual maturity at an average age of six months and can have kittens twice a year. One can imagine what happens to an unspayed pair of cats over the course of a year if the female cat has two litters of four kittens each, and two of those kittens are female... Exactly, it escalates incredibly quickly, and without spaying and initial care, it’s hardly manageable.
This is why our goal is to provide initial care for all the kittens that come to us.
