    A programme of combating child labour continued to receive support enabling the partner to return 350 children that were withdrawn from child labour conditions into schools. The project worked with different stakeholders that included key government line ministries, schools, children and community leaders and this resulted in a common understanding on how to deal with child labour in the target areas. Although some communities now understand the value of sending children to schools lot more need to be done to give them alternatives in this poverty stricken district. The partner continued with lobby and advocacy activities aimed at discouraging households to use child labour and instead send them to school. On a positive note the two incubation centres (schools – Brückenschulen)) that have been adopted by the partner as centres of learning have managed to start construction of one classroom block each. The blocks are at different stages and this was an effort of the community and school authorities to improve the learning environment to attract learners.
